  Walking into Mr. Hardwoods Electronic Media Production Class has open my eyes to more then what can be learned from previous knowledge. This course has more of a hands-on approach to social media, its not just about having a twitter or linked in but what the site can do for you. In this class we also did some video editing using different Mac software. To wrap it up and show to our class we learned how to use blogger and by this being my first time using it, I can truly say ill be using it again with different promotional means and ways of making a portfolio.


Twitter, the social outlet that allows you to talk to the world with one message. You would be surprised who would see and response and repost and you say based on whats occurring in everyday life. I use twitter as a way to display who i am and also to get opinions on certain topics. Its a easy way to understand what other people are saying and how they feel about the day they just had or show just watched. I see twitter mostly being used when a major show airs on TV and everyone is watching it and giving thoughts on the show. My recent tweet was a video with Upcoming Star Avery Wilson to show my followers and also make more connections. On twitter my name is @thatguy_wymark .


Are you Linked-In? LinkedIn is a professional based site which allows you to manage your professional identity while building connections and engaging with your professional network. Linked-In is a social media site known to use your online resume to connect you to people who can help find the job or similar paths your interested in. To young people such as myself linked-in can get you connected to the correct people using this site displaying all your jobs, talents, and achievements in a upscale manner which could possibly one day help you get the job. Prezi is the Upgraded version of power-point, if you want to make a presentation that with leave a great impression, I say use Prezi. It is a advanced way to present a topic with as many details you want using text, photos, and videos. I enjoy using Prezi and I feel that it will continue to leave great impressions on the viewers. Green Screen "Quick Takes" Video, This project involved displaying three
short video clips on three different topics, one of which has to be a timely news or sports story giving comments and thoughts about the video. In mine I showed the parts of SCSU Athletics that I truly enjoy working with. I can see myself doing this project later in life used to display a concept that I may want to explain or bring more light to. Htis can be used in both professionally stands and for fun. Kizoa, This software is a photo slideshow advanced verse. Using Kizoa by simply uploading photos and adding affecting to fit your liking. I dont like this site do to the graphic limitations, I do free as free to create as much as i would be able to on any other site. My Kizoa is mostly showing bulldogs I found around campus, proving that my SC State University does have bulldog pride!  To view mine Kizoa click here.


Now in closing, I this class I have learned more about blogs and video editing tricks then i excepted. I truly enjoyed the hands on approach to this class and cant wait to use what i learned in this class in my next future assignment or task. I really like the picture in picture video blog It came out great and I will start doing more of those to explain and discuss future activities as I continue here at SCSU.

Quick Takes w/ Picture in Picture Video Blog

Working on this Quick Takes assignment allowed me to show the parts of SCSU Athletics that I truly enjoy working with. I can see myself doing this project later in life used to display a concept that I may want to explain or bring more light to. Quick Takes using picture in picture puts me in the mind of doing a Video Blog. Learning how to place myself into the video to explain it makes it more interesting then doing a regular voice over.

Prezi

Using Prezi I realize that making a PowerPoint Presentation  is in the past. Currently using Prezi to display information or inform others of a new idea will make viewing & creating it more interesting to work with.  I feel that Prezi will be used more in the future then PowerPoint.

From the Green to Real Life

For this assignment I choose to place myself on the set of 106 & Park because I've always wanted to attend one of there shows whether it was in the audience or working for them. This show made my after school chill days one to look forward to seeing the host work their jobs and live it! Being able to use the creative software i found while being in this class. 

The Real inside Scoop on Iris Gadsden:

“A person solely motivated by god and her family who always tries to do her best despite the obstacles which come forth”

That is Iris Gadsden, A goal setting young woman from a small town in the state of South Carolina called Moncks Corner. She is currently a Senior Broadcasting Communications Major at South Carolina State University. She has several goals which will get her to where she wants to be in life.

 Who is Iris Gadsden? You may ask, well I’m here to tell you…

Looking over her college career here at South Carolina State University, Gadsden is a part of SCSU’s Pomp Squad known as Sapphire, a committee member on Campus Activity Board serving under special events committee, and Currently serving as Miss Phi Mu Alpha for the 2015-2016 academic school year. Being involved on campus and handling class work may seem like a job by its self but she manages by “Learning time management and how to take responsibility”.

Working closely with mentors and close partners in relative organizations to improve her gifts in pageants, dancing, and singing. She is also involved in an organization called “The Celebrity Impersonators” which is a pure platinum band who reenacts celebrity artist to where they perform and travel to present a speculate performance.

Her inside passion is to improve the lives of younger girls through a mentoring program she wishes to start known as G.R.E.A.T. (Girls, Reaching, Each, & Teaching) for preteen girls to benefit lives of the young and eliminate the social media concepts of what a beautiful girl should look instead of lifting her to believe and understand that you already are.

                                                                                                              

When someone asks you where you see yourself in the next 5 years most say working for this major company doing what the job requires as for Iris she has aspirations to become the next Television Personnel and build an inspiring brand around it.  “Learning how to stand up and talk in front of others people, learning how to build confidence within yourself and be a role model for other young girls” is all thing Gadsden has learned while participating in Pageants over the years which will one day assistant her in preparing for the future. The saying hold true it’s not always what you know but who you know, working in the broadcasting field she has a knack for making connections that not only make her a face but a brand.

Twitter-Be apart of the Discussion

Pro's and Con's
Looking into twitter I feel that it is a great resource to reach out to the public with. If your marketing something to the world, its great to see what will happen once other opinions and ideas get into the mix. Twitter grows its biggest audience during a Television show or a major events happening. It is cool it see someone whose not near you have the same mind set as you. During presidential campaigns and debates it is a resource to where you can discuss you side on a certain topic and get feed back.
On the other hand, Twitter can be a bad resource if someone uses it for the wrong reasons.

LinkedIn is a professional based site which allows you to manage your professional identity while building connections and engaging with your professional network. This program is used by several people in hopes to Access knowledge, insights, and opportunities in their career path. I like the matching of companies to people with similar interest. I believe it can be used as a Big Resume, its a place you can display all your achievement and goals. On the other hand if you don't post enough it may not be as beneficial to you.

As a rising senior at South Carolina State University, I Wymark Barton have marked my matriculation at this university as an emerging leader. Attending SCSU has been a great experience. I believe I have obtained the skills and abilities that will help me to become the leader I aspire to be. Currently at SCSU, I have committed to making a difference in the lives of others by serving in several organizations, including the Student Orientation Leader Program, Black Males Project, SCSU Athletic Marketing Internship, and the National Society of Black Engineers.

Since I arrived at SC State, I have been actively involved and devoted to improving the campus starting with changes that I could make as a student. My efforts to make a difference through leadership and service has been recognized by my peers and the university. Attending an HBCU has given me opportunities that I do believe wouldn’t have been readily available to me had I attended any other type of university. Having access to some of the student organizations and groups in which I serve, has helped me to develop. This help motivates me to continue to impact my campus and encourage others around me to do the same as I set the example.
